Pam and I both are pretty close to the same age, so we were both brought into this world within a couple months of each other. Both of us were born at the same hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Both of our families' homes happened to be in close distance from one another back in the late 60's. Amazingly, we found out soon that we lived within the same proximity of S La Crosse, near East Ave S, Bennette St and Losey Blvd S. Pamela lived with her parents just a few short blocks away from my family when we were both very young kids in town.
As time went on, Pamela left La Crosse for Menomonie in 1992, and she finally settled permanently in Eau Claire, Wi. I left La Crosse to partner up with my oldest brother in running a long-term and successful 82-unit apartment building business in beautiful Miami, Florida, from 1990 to 2007.
Pam and I graduated in the same year of '85 in our high schools. She graduated from Logan High, and I graduated from Central High, both of La Crosse. Many decades passed by in our lives, and we found each other a few years after we were each married and divorced once. But our paths never crossed until that special warm, soft summer day we contacted each other by phone on July 30, 2019, after noticing each other on Facebook at the very same moment.
At first, Facebook was to be recommending we both become friends, which peaked each other's mutual interests. She said, "We then decided the other was cute." I think we had only one friend in common on Facebook. The next thing I told her she says, only 3 minutes into our first conversation on the phone, I said, "Well... I think we are now officially dating, and we can now consider us to be going out together. I realize that any innocent flirting and some casual scrolling on my smartphone can be an awkward way to meet somebody, but we both wanted to date someone new to share with the continued love and support we felt for our family, good friends, and our animals we each had at home.
It is Sunday, August 18, 2019 and the day we both decided our first date would be to coordinate together at the Holmen Kornfest Auto Show in Holmen, Wi. Like in other years past, I was driving my 1926 Chevy Landua Sedan there in order to enter it in the awards show given at the end. I was pretty much feeling lucky the entire day since I knew she was coming to meet me there, no doubt.
All of a sudden, she walked right up behind me, tapped me on my shoulder and said, "I heard them call your name and saw you walk up to get your new trophy, so I knew just where to follow you back here to where you are standing now... By the way, you look a lot taller and muscular than I expected." Our friendship must have grown even stronger since then, and we decided to marry on July 30, 2022.
Our wedding took place at the Concordia Ballroom, in La Crosse, Wi in 2022, exactly three years to the day since we first talked on the phone on July 30, 2019. Naturally, we had to
join our "families" including 1 dog, 3 cats and 2 fish along with lot of extra stuff in tow. I now build our hardwood tables in our shop for our customers while Pam has a separate job of working from home and is Ron's #1 cheerleader and part-time business sense refiner. (the title she came up with that sounded more exciting than office manager).
When we are not working diligently from home, we generally love to go on motorcycle rides to our favorite scenic Driftless Area destinations, go hiking or camping if we can, but most of all, after a hard day's work we enjoy time together and spending it at our home caring for our "mini zoo."

The uniqueness of the Driftless Area supports the region's diverse woodlands and provides the raw, beautiful, and unique hardwood that is at the cornerstone of our own local business for making traditional looking hardwood tables from Ash, Cherry, Hackberry, Walnut, American Elm, or White Oak. Although there are many variations of species of hardwood trees that grow here, only a few of the most valuable and suitable furniture quality trees are then chosen to make our tables from. We search for the veteran or ancient trees that are in the 3rd, or final stage of their lives. Descriptions and the cost of our tabletops we create listed below are completely separate from the actual bases and\or legs used.
We can help you purchase your favorite choice of legs or bases from separate makers or manufactures that we can recommend for you. Our retail prices for our tabletops are separate from the price they charge for legs or bases. No mark-up costs are added when you get the legs or bases installed and pay for them. What you pay for them is the list price advertised by the leg companies and not a nickel more. No costs to you for the installation of legs or bases when purchase a complete table from Hanson's Hardwood Designs LLC.
Legs for the hardwood tabletops need to be ordered at least 2 weeks prior and pre-paid before installations can be performed. We will install the legs for free and will be ordering them from your choice of all reputable table leg dealers and adding the cost of the legs to the full price of the tabletop. We do not rent our tables out for any type of occasions. No table buy backs. Free leg installations are subject only to a complete hardwood table purchase with legs or a base.
The price of table bases or legs costs run about $200 to around $500 and up on you. Bases or stands are not included in the price of our brand of tabletops. We will only install legs that can safely and fully support the weight of our handcrafted tabletops, under normal use.
