We both grew up in La Crosse WI, moved away and came back to be closer to our family. We did not meet at all when we were younger, despite having similar friends and attending many similar events. We met in our early 50's when we saw each other on Facebook, and we then decided the other was cute. Our friendship grew stronger, and we married each other in 2022.
We joined our "families" including 1 dog, 4 cats and 2 fish. Pam has a separate job of working from home and is Ron's #1 cheerleader and business refiner (the title she came up with that sounded more exciting than office manager). When we are not working from home, we love to go on motorcycle rides to our favorite destinations, go hiking in the woods and camping, but most of all, we enjoy time together and spending it at home with our "mini zoo".

Hanson's Hardwood Designs is a business and a language of love for creating a simple, but not simpler eye pleasingly, personally inspiring tables that uses 100 percent locally, naturally produced hardwoods for our tables such as green ash, black cherry, hackberry, American elm, white oak and more. We use a variety of hardwoods in our tables to give it its uniqueness you won't get if the table is mass produced by manufacturers that will use composite synthetic materials to make their tables and by buying this type of temporary furniture isn't always good. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for in these circumstances while taking that risk.
Wood from trees is the single rarest material in the universe. There could be entire planets out there made of gold and diamonds, but as far as we know, Earth is the only planet in the universe that would have wood. Wood as we know it, only exists on Earth.

Our tables are made using name brand professional Festool random orbital sander with a (HEPA) filter hose vacuum attachment used on all 6 sides of the hardwood slab tables. These are sanded multiple times to the point of absolute shiny perfection using top-notch 1000 grit sandpaper between all of the final finish coats. Tables are first primed and colored before the brilliant topcoats come on, to produce deep mirror-like reflections.

Here are some general price ranges for our handcrafted hardwood tables which can vary in price, depending on size, legs and type of hardwood used for it and intricate work details in it. All of our tables start out standard as a carefully chosen wide single slabs of heartwood nearest the center of the tree for its added value. All of our tables come beautifully finished. We complete all of our own tables in our shop and sell the tables to the most discerning customers in need of a new definition of hardwood tables that far outlasts other brands. We have some of the most desirable natural edged tables in the business.
Most of the handmade tables pictured on our website gallery are available, or ones similar for sale. Some may be sold at any point. Your way of arrangements for the transporting of your new table after the sale should be your responsibility and be made prior to pick up, unless delivery is being set up by Hanson's and you. Most of our tables fit in the back seat of a medium car or a regular pickup, with the legs removed. Shipping can be very expensive for our tables in general and is rare. Some delivery and set up may be available and fees may apply for delivery within certain distances based on time and miles we can do. Pick your own table leg style with a partial payment ahead of time for customization. We supply and install all our legs on all of our tables. Our handcrafted hardwood tables come with steel or aluminum legs that are easily removable for transportation to destinations.
